  • Dentrix Ascend – Not Detecting ACQ Agent

    Introduction

Starting with Google Chrome 147, a new site permission called Apps on Device was introduced. This permission is required for the Ascend Acquisition Agent to load correctly. If the permission is disabled, hidden, or restricted, the Ascend Acquisition Agent will not load.

This article explains how to locate and update the Apps on Device permission in Google Chrome.

    Details

    When This Applies

You may need to update this setting if:

    • The Ascend Acquisition Agent will not load
    • Imaging or acquisition workflows fail to start
    • Google Chrome was recently updated to version 147 or later

Option 1: Update the Permission from the Address Bar (Recommended)

    1. Open Google Chrome.
    2. Navigate to the Ascend website.
    3. In the Address Bar, select the Site Information icon (lock icon, settings slider, or information icon).
    4. Review the site permissions list.

If Apps on Device is visible:

    • Set the permission to Ask or Allow.

Note: Setting the permission to Allow is recommended to prevent repeated prompts and ensure the Ascend Acquisition Agent loads successfully.

Option 2: “Apps on Device” Not Visible – Open Full Site Settings

If Apps on Device does not appear in the initial permissions list:

    1. While on the Ascend site, select the Site Information icon in the Address Bar.
    2. Select Site Settings.
    3. Scroll to the very bottom of the permissions list.
    4. Locate Apps on Device.
    5. Set the permission to Ask or Allow.

If the Permission Is Missing or Hidden

If Apps on Device does not appear anywhere in Site Settings:

    • The permission may be restricted by device or organizational policies.
    • Contact your local IT support team for assistance.

Do not attempt to modify system or browser policy settings without IT approval.

  • Dentrix – Where is my ‘imaging’ tab?

    https://henryscheinone.my.site.com/dentrix/s/article/New-Dentrix-Imaging-Workflow-FAQ

**Remember to set the double click in black space to open with Dexis. Go to chart –> imaging tab –> gear on top right –> bridging –> change from Dentrix Imaging to Dexis**

    Introduction

Dentrix Imaging is designed to feel familiar and intuitive in your imaging workflow.  For security of your data and continued functionality we encourage users of Dexis Integrator to use Dentrix Imaging moving forward.

    Details

Where have my Dexis Toolbar icons gone?  Where is the Image tab (Dexis Integrator)?

Note: Dexis Integrator in Dentrix has reached end of support,  Do not contact Dexis Support.

    • Dentrix Imaging provides integrated capability to capture, view, and process all images taken with your Dexis hardware
    • Dentrix Imaging Overview

How do I access the Imaging tab that replaces the integrator?

    • The Imaging panel is displayed in the bottom of the main Chart panel. Through this window you can access all images for a selected patient, including a familiar anatomical view of Full Mouth X-Rays when selecting the Intraoral X-rays filter.
    • You can filter images by type or image software
    • Selecting an image allows you to display it for review

  • Dentrix Chart Crash w/ Dexis Integrator

A known problem is occurring where charts will crash on open or when viewing clinical notes if the Dexis integrator (all versions, current is 3.3.4 at time of posting) is installed on workstations with the newest versions of Dentrix (25.24 known issue, others could be too).

Solution: You can also use the Dentrix Smart Image connector (recommended)

Dentrix finds these older style integrators from Dexis to be end-of-life and they may never receive another upgrade to fix this issue.

  • Phishing Scam Notice

DTS has recently noticed an increase in Phishing Scam related emails coming from legitimate sources. These emails generally appear as encrypted emails. They are targeting dental / health related companies.

    Example: (images)

    OR

We tend to see these websites then lead you to a Google or Microsoft login webpage. Sometimes, in between that page loading, it will have you click another link or do a “Are you a robot?” test to make it feel legitimate.

Not all emails are the same or lead to the same place but mainly do the same thing, ask for you email password. We are seeing these come from legitimate dental offices, which is why it is spreading so quick. The user believes they are just being prompted to verify their password since it is mocking an encrypted email.

Below is a quick video (not made by DTS, credit to “trumancyber”) to show the level that hackers are willing to go to, and it all looks very real. This is a form of what we are seeing but without the ability to do the ‘drag test’ as mentioned in the video. Every website will present itself differently and with different quirks, etc. If you have a doubt on the legitimacy of an email. Please do not click anything in it and reach out to us below.
